Ok, as a boy growing up in the late sixties/early seventies who didn’t

     want to be Captain Kirk? Well, I at least thought I did at the time. I

     must have had 2 or 3 of the AMT Enterprise models kits and at least

     a half dozen of the Exploration sets, which included a Phaser,

     Communicator, and Tricorder.

 

     I remember those plastic models didn’t hold up very well to action on

     the school playground. Generally the first time you did your best

     impression of a Shatner barrel roll you found your back pocket full of

     tiny broken pieces of what used to be your trusty communicator.

     “Damn it Spock!  Do something!”

     

     I won’t bother to talk about my friend who spent the better part of second

     grade  perfecting the Vulcan neck pinch.

 

     God, I loved being a kid...
