Ok, as a boy growing up in the late sixties/early seventies who didn’t
want to be Captain Kirk? Well, I at least thought I did at the time. I
must have had 2 or 3 of the AMT Enterprise models kits and at least
a half dozen of the Exploration sets, which included a Phaser,
Communicator, and Tricorder.
I remember those plastic models didn’t hold up very well to action on
the school playground. Generally the first time you did your best
impression of a Shatner barrel roll you found your back pocket full of
tiny broken pieces of what used to be your trusty communicator.
“Damn it Spock! Do something!”
I won’t bother to talk about my friend who spent the better part of second
grade perfecting the Vulcan neck pinch.
God, I loved being a kid...
